Safe Sober Prom Night, 28 years and going strong.

Daggett is a co-founder of Safe Sober Prom Night, Inc., a program now in its 28th year, promotes drug and alcohol safety and awareness among teenagers in North Carolina. One of David’s many passions is working with young people. “Young people don’t get moved by lectures,” Daggett says.

“You can’t move them by pointing your finger at them and telling them what they should and should not do. What does engage young people is passion. I’m able to put my passion for Ironman races out there while I am speaking to different student groups to hook their interest in my message.”

Ironman Competitor, 27 competitions and counting.

Attorney Daggett, 57, of Winston-Salem has completed over 190 triathlons including 27 Ironman competitions.

The Ironman presents the ultimate test of body, mind and spirit for professional and amateur athletes. An Ironman race consists of a 2.4 mile swim, 112 mile bike, and 26.2 mile run. Daggett recently won the over 50 division of the Ironman Executive Challenge in a time of 10 hours, 58 minutes, which qualified him to compete in the 2016 Hawaii Ironman World Championship.

David’s success in the ultimate athletic test of mind and body comes from his unique philosophy he uses to define his focus in life. By integrating what he calls the Four Anchors he is able to focus on what matters most to him, and best utilize the limited time he, and all of us, have.

“I have 24 hours in the day, just like everyone else. But I find people always asking me how in the world I get so much done in a day! When you focus on the Four Anchors – Family Life, Physical Self, Professional Life, Spiritual Self – you are able to drill down to what is most important to you to accomplish your goals. It is the litmus test for my life.  And I want to share with others what I have learned about integrating and balancing what is most important to me.”
